Founded in 2006, Sohag university is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Nasser City (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Sohag. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt, Sohag university (SO) is a very large coeducational Egyptian higher education institution. Sohag university (SO) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 14 years old Egyptian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this Egyptian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
