Communications engineering
About the department
The telecommunications sector is witnessing rapid and broad developments in recent decades in many fields (digital, mobile, optical, satellite, etc.). This engineering specialization is one of the most important academic specializations, which is concerned with studying the impact of electronics and devices on modern industrial equipment and systems.
The study of communications and electronics opens the way for work in companies of various levels, small, medium and giant.
Companies designing and manufacturing electrical devices.
Mobile and landline companies.
Software and artificial intelligence companies.
Maintenance and technical support companies for mobile services.
Internet service provider companies.
Embedded Systems Companies.
Vision
Providing high-quality education in the field of Communication and Electronics Engineering and its applications in various fields.
the message
The pursuit of a distinguished educational system that ensures participation in research, development and training related to society, which will lead to improving the quality of life activities, and continuing to produce high-quality engineering graduates in the field of telecommunications and electronic engineering.
Objectives
Qualify students to be able to understand the following systems design methods: communications, electronic control, antenna control, antennas and waves propagation, and computer and communication networks.
Developing mechanisms for organizing conferences and workshops, building a strong relationship with graduates, participating in student competitions, writing books and electronic courses, participating in university activities, providing technical advice and advice, and publishing papers in highly ranked journals and / or conferences.
Strengthening the role of information technology in education, research, administrative activities and community services, and providing access to modern information sources.
Improving and developing the capabilities and capabilities of the faculty members and workers in the department and stimulating their spirit of development and creativity.
Continuously improving educational and research facilities and laboratories, and updating educational curricula that meet the needs of the labor market.
Supporting research opportunities for faculty members to increase opportunities for distinguished scientific publishing.
Department lab
The Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering currently owns 4 laboratories equipped with devices and equipment that contribute to the educational process and link the scientific content provided to the student to the labor market, and the department is currently seeking to complete these laboratories and develop them to serve the educational and research objectives of graduation projects and these devices and equipment are distributed among a group of laboratories that exist. It has engineers who perform maintenance and testing of devices as well as assist in setting up experiments.
Power and Control Lab: This lab is equipped with a power unit, a group of DC and three-phase and single-phase AC motors, and a number of microcontroller units, as well as a PLC to train students on how to control the speeds of motors of various types.
Circuits Lab: This lab is equipped to study electronic, digital, and electrical circuits, how to test and design them, in which the student gets acquainted with the standard, transistor and multi-stage signal amplifiers, how to design them, as well as cutting and smoothing circuits, as well as designing integrative and differential circuits, as well as designing digital and logical circuits.
Communications Engineering Lab: includes a number of experiments covering many topics in analogue and digital communications (AM- FM- PM).
PCB printing lab: The lab is equipped with all the necessary tools and materials (acids - paper - irons) to print ready-made electronic circuits that are designed by students using ready-made computer programs such as prototypes.
