school system
The institute applies the credit hour system that allows the student to study according to his preferences and abilities. In contrast to the fixed teaching system used in Egyptian universities, the credit hour system allows students to choose a number of courses from a well-prepared academic program.
The program offers a variety of courses, some of them are specialized, some of them general and cultural, and the rest are optional courses that support the student’s specialization. The system also ensures that the slow student does not hinder the progress of the studies for the superior student. As the system allows the superior to choose from the courses commensurate with his excellence, and if he completes the requirements of the academic degree, he can graduate before his colleagues. Each student has an academic advisor who assists him in choosing his study program, monitors its progress, and assists him in solving any problem he faces. The system also encourages the student to develop independent thinking and gives him sufficient time to expand his areas of interest and trains him to search for information using the library and other educational means. The student’s academic achievement is evaluated daily or weekly regularly throughout the semester, and he is also assigned with comprehensive homework and final examinations in each semester. Scholastic. All this helps the student to learn more quickly as it helps the teacher to judge the student properly and evaluate his performance objectively and according to the credit hour system, allowing the student to re-study any course in which he did not achieve a high rating in order to raise his GPA.
A student at the Higher Technological Institute can study to obtain a bachelor’s degree or diploma, according to the program he chooses. In order to obtain a diploma in engineering, the student must complete the study of 120 accredited units, and this requires at least three years. But if he wants to complete the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology in one of the available disciplines, he must complete the study to complete the units according to the regulation, and this needs two academic years. The academic year is divided into three equal semesters, each of which is 14 weeks - two of which are for academic study, while the third semester is devoted to practical training in a factory or project in the city of the tenth of Ramadan or the sixth of October or any other places inside Egypt. Practical training is carried out under the supervision of the institute's faculty, and this program provides a combination of academic and technological study, which is what is badly needed in Egypt and the Arab world. The student can also choose the Technology and Information Business Administration program. To obtain a diploma in Technology and Information Business Management, the student completes the study of 80 accredited study units and must complete the study to complete the units in accordance with the regulations to obtain a bachelor’s degree. The administration student studies two academic semesters each year, and the third semester is devoted to practical training, as is the case for students of engineering departments.
