Cairo University is one of Egypt's most illustrious educational institutions. It was established in 1908 and is based in Giza. In 1974, Cairo University's Media Institute was transformed into the Middle East's first School of Communication, with three major divisions: journalism and press publishing, radio and television, public relations, and advertising. Cairo University is Egypt's first accredited Mass Communication faculty. The Faculty is available in both Arabic and English.

New Cairo is home to the American University in Cairo. The faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at The American University in Cairo is known as Mass Communication. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is dedicated to providing excellent undergraduate and graduate education as well as professional training in the rapidly evolving fields of journalism and mass communication, all in the English language and accredited by the United States. The university offers three majors: Communication and Media Art, Multimedia Journalism, and Integrated Marketing Communication. Communication and Media Art, Multimedia Journalism, and Integrated Marketing Communication are the three majors available at the university.

MSA University, also known as October University for Modern Science and Arts, is located on October 6th. Bedfordshire University provides fully validated faculties at the university. As a result, graduates receive two bachelor's degrees, one from Egypt and the other from the United Kingdom. On a national, regional, and international level, the Mass Communication faculty is one of the best. To increase exposure to professional fields, the faculty organizes field trips and hosts public seminars featuring well-known media figures. In 2014, the British University's Faculty of Communication and Mass Media established a Mass Communication program. The faculty of Communication and Mass Media has an active partnership with London South Bank University in the United Kingdom, and as a result of this partnership, the faculty of Communication and Mass Media is awarded dual degree certification from London South Bank University. Radio and Television, Journalism, Film and Media Studies, and Integrated Marketing and Communications are the four majors offered by this faculty. Virtual studios with tools and technologies are available at the university. Radio studios, film studios, Mac labs, a photography studio, and an integrated newsroom are all available.
